Looks like Jenny Slate is leaving SNL and four new cast members are joining Saturday Night Live this season, EW.com confirms. The new SNL cast members are Taran Killam, Paul Brittain, Vanessa Bayer and Jay Pharoah, who looks from his video below like he could be the new Obama on SNL. Jay Pharoah’s YouTube video of his many impressions is also below for a looksey, and while they aren’t all gems, there are a lot of good impersonations...

Nooooo! Will Forte will be leaving Saturday Night Live, and while I hoped Forte’s SNL exit was just a rumor, turns out it’s true. The New York Times first reported that Will Forte quit SNL, and his rep confirms the news: “After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities. He is eternally grateful to Lorne and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.”...

Such sad news… actor Martin Short’s wife, Nancy Dolman, reportedly died over the weekend at the couple’s home in California. There has been no cause of death released for Nancy Dolman, but police were said to have responded to an emergency call on Saturday monring. Martin Short’s wife, Nancy Dolman, was diagnosed with cancer in 2007. She did have surgery at that time, but there’s no word yet if her death was related...

Betty White wins Emmy for SNL hosting gig… anyone surprised? Betty White, who has been white hot for the past year, won an Emmy for her amazing turn as Saturday Night Live host. Can you think of anyone more deserving? White’s Emmy award specifically was in the category of Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series – she won over the weekend at the creative arts ceremony.
